Reticare is born from more than 20 years of pioneering scientific research into the impact of toxic light from digital screens on the retina.
The research initiated at the Complutense University of Madrid laid the groundwork for understanding an invisible risk. Reticare arises to transform that scientific knowledge into real solutions for eye protection.
Data that supports a scientific trajectory
The story of Reticare does not start with a product, but with the need to prevent irreversible damage to vision.
A scientific milestone
the origin of reticare
September 9, 2013 · Hotel Ritz in Madrid
In 2013, researchers from the Complutense University of Madrid, led by Dr. Celia Sánchez-Ramos together with Nilo García, CEO and founder of Reticare, presented the results of in-vitro experimental studies that demonstrated a key fact.
The key fact was the experimental evidence that human retinal cells undergo massive death when directly exposed to LED light, while the interposition of a filter capable of absorbing certain wavelengths significantly increases cell survival.
The event brought together researchers, ophthalmologists, and media, becoming the first public warning about a risk that would affect millions of people worldwide.
This is where the mission of Reticare begins.
FROM PIONEERS TO REFERENCE
Scientific responsibility
Reticare is born from scientific evidence and takes on the responsibility to act when that evidence demonstrates a real risk to visual health. Every decision is based on verified knowledge, not on passing trends.
Long-term commitment
From the first study to today, Reticare has maintained a constant commitment to eye protection. A continuous, rigorous effort aimed at reducing the real impact of daily exposure to screens.
