Children's exposure
Children are more vulnerable.
Their retina is not yet mature.
The child's retina does not have the natural defenses of the adult eye. And today's digital habits expose them to cumulative exposure that begins long before it becomes visible.
The macular pigment is not yet mature. This natural defense of the adult eye against blue light (380–500 nm) has not yet developed in children, leaving their photoreceptors more exposed.
Closer means four times the exposure. Due to the inverse square law, halving the distance to the screen multiplies the light intensity received by four.
